Der erfolgreiche Zahnarzt Dr. Alan Feinstone erfährt, dass seine Frau Brooke eine Affäre mit dem Poolboy hat. Dieses Wissen treibt ihn in den Wahnsinn. Feinstone, der schon immer einen Sauberkeitsfimmel hatte, ist plötzlich besessen davon, dass hinter jeder strahlenden Oberfläche etwas Faules lauert. Er bestraft Brooke, indem er ihr alle Zähne zieht. Doch damit sind seine sadistischen Gelüste noch nicht befriedigt. Feinstones Praxis wird zu einer Folterkammer.
