Der erfolgreiche Zahnarzt Dr. Alan Feinstone erfährt, dass seine Frau Brooke eine Affäre mit dem Poolboy hat. Dieses Wissen treibt ihn in den Wahnsinn. Feinstone, der schon immer einen Sauberkeitsfimmel hatte, ist plötzlich besessen davon, dass hinter jeder strahlenden Oberfläche etwas Faules lauert. Er bestraft Brooke, indem er ihr alle Zähne zieht. Doch damit sind seine sadistischen Gelüste noch nicht befriedigt. Feinstones Praxis wird zu einer Folterkammer. Im Hinblick auf das absurde Thema und die zweitklassige Form von The Dentist ist es eigentlich ein ziemlich unterhaltsamer Quatsch. Aber nur dann, wenn Sie Filme nicht so ernst nehmen, auch wenn in ihnen Mark Ruffalo spielt.

Downright disappointment. Little blood, little gore, the dentist office setting is criminally underused, lacking tension, lacking atmosphere and lacking a plot. And I refuse to add a star only for the name of the director, especially when the direction is generic most of the time. Below average.

"Dentista" is a good film, even though it may not meet your expectations. This really isn't something that is overly bloody, but I think that the chosen path of smaller naturalism is beneficial in this case. The dental chair is such a familiar environment that you can easily imagine the horror, and you may find yourself closing your eyes during certain scenes because otherwise you might feel really sick.
