Only a few movies have as polarizing ratings as Starship Troopers from 1997. A lot has been written about it, numerous podcasts have discussed it (I recommend the one from Movie Witches), and yet, my opinion hasn't changed - it's one of the best movies, a personal favorite, love at first sight that endures :)) Sure, the effects are now more on the funny side (although for that time and budget, they were absolutely awesome), the story is somewhat almost naive, the source material and the book have been compared a thousand times, and there's also the debate about its satire on fascism and societal hierarchy. However, if you simply view it as a nearly thirty-year-old sci-fi masterpiece, it's still cool as hell and it works. Personally, I've probably seen it about 15 times, and each time, maybe even thanks to the elapsed time and some sort of mental development (LOL), I discover something I missed before or understand it differently. At the end, it doesn't matter if I'm ten, twenty, or thirty-five yrs old - the brain-sucking scene is just twistedly awesome, and Casper is Casper. So, Oorah! :D

It starts off with a very original and promising setup, with the prospect of a good and dark detective story. However, it gradually veers into psychological drama and loses its momentum. Personally, I could have done without the gloomy passages delving into the self-harm history of the main character, which seem to contribute to the overall atmosphere of "nobody understands me, and I'm troubled," but it didn't work for me. Thumbs up for the relatively uncensored mass shooting and the highly pessimistic yet realistic ending. Thumbs down for the unfinished details that could have elevated the movie. Nevertheless, I still consider it decent, and decent gets a solid three :)

The second episode is noticeably better than the first one. The very essence of the episode - a remote village, a horrifying murder, and the search for truth - is already intriguing. For me, it's good, but I'll only give it three stars, cause the plot is somewhat predictable, and from the very beginning, I knew why the mother had so many VHS tapes of detective shows. So, it's okay, but we can do better! Come on, Black Mirror, show us what you've got!

The episode, which starts off well (because it's Black Mirror, and we all expect a brilliant story and a mind-blowing twist), I have to admit that the first episode was quite weak for me. I don't want to completely dismiss it, but it was rather boring and, well, crappy? The premise was okay, but compared to previous episodes, this one is only about 20% of what Black Mirror is capable of. So hopefully, the next episodes will bring something more captivating.

Slowly but surely, things are starting to happen again, which is good, but the buildup is still quite slow. It has been dragging on for far too long with the constant "what if" and "why" questions, and there are still no answers. This unnecessary stretching is really frustrating. I can already see that they're going to cram everything into the last episode and leave it with an open ending, which would really, really piss me off!

This episode is decent... It's nothing groundbreaking, but it also doesn't bore you to death. If I disregard the fact that in the book we would already be somewhere faaaar faaaar away by now, the TV show is following its own storyline, which may not be as exciting as the book adaptation, but I wouldn't condemn it like some others here. We're learning more, there is progress in the plot, but it's about time they start addressing the things happening outside LOL.

I watched this movie just now because of my stepson, and I think I enjoyed it more than he did :D The execution? Fantastic!!!! The animation is unparalleled, the battles are great, the story is good, and the jokes? I was laughing from the beginning to the end :) I never thought I would give five stars to a cartoon movie, but yes, this one deserves it. Finally, no woke wave, no one is portrayed as gay, no yellow or black character, no overly empowered pseudo-feminist, no non-binary weird creature, just a classic, bloody funny fairytale :) I really liked it.

This is an excellent horror movie. Definitely in my top 5! The action (and quite a bit of gore) starts right from the beginning, so you're literally glued to your seat and it doesn't let go until the very end. Since everything takes place in one location (an old-school police station at night), the atmosphere is extremely grim, and the music and sound effects complement everything perfectly. I highly recommend using headphones and dimming the lights for the ultimate experience. It doesn't lack anything that a good horror film should have - bizarreness, disgust, jumpscares, tension, twistedness, shooting, cutting, absence of lighting, creepy footsteps, whispers, camera footage, flickering lights, screaming, just everything! AWESOME! Including the ending, where everything is explained. I definitely recommend it, this is worth watching!

Finally, something is happening again! Yes! It's not a blockbuster like the first episode, but at least we're moving forward and not just dealing with insignificant crap. We don't get too many explanations again, but there's a huge twist, so it's definitely a positive boost for the next episode.

While everyone seems to be liking it, this episode was the least interesting for me so far. I don't want to say it's bad, it's not, but I felt like it lacked more action. We learned a few more things, which is cool, and we found out that something is fishy in the judiciary, so things are getting nicely tangled up, but still. Not much was resolved since Holsten's death, so hopefully, the upcoming episodes will shed more light on the situation.
