Don't Hang Up (2016)

Englisch Joe Johnson wrote a script that the directors grabbed a good hold of and made a mainstream horror film that would be worth going to the movie theater to see. The British film Don't Hang Up doesn't really stand out, but it has a decent enough atmosphere and storytelling to keep you entertained and tense all the way to the end. The revelations in the film are not bad at all.

Severance - Ein blutiger Betriebsausflug (2006)

Englisch The British-German-Hungarian co-production produced a film that has no great, let alone excessive, ambitions. It's simply a film that has conceived teambuilding in its own way, especially in a way that the viewer enjoys. And I think that's an aspect the film manages to fulfill and helps it quite a bit. It's lighthearted, interesting and funny. At the beginning, I thought it was going to be a slasher bore, but as time went on I started to enjoy it.

Shark Zone - Tod aus der Tiefe (2003) booo!

Englisch Ultimately, my recommendation is to avoid the American-Bulgarian film Shark Zone, because there is nothing here that could excite you, that could justify the hour and a half - an hour and a half! - that you will devote to watching the film. You're better off devoting it to something else, because you won't even come across the sharks much here, as they are surprisingly only a minor part of this bad movie.

Edogawa Rampo zenšú: Kjófu kikei ningen (1969)

Englisch The Japanese film Horror of a Deformed Man surprises with the way it is shot and the scenes that appear therein. It is as if a strange madness was concentrated and made a movie. This is a film that doesn't make sense at first glance, but turns out not to be so crazy after all. This is a very good piece of work that isn't for everyone, but it's a great way to tap into your darker side.

Vampire gegen Herakles (1961)

Englisch The great thing about Hercules in the Haunted World is that there are some nice special effects scenes or simply moments where you think that it's a good thing that Mario Bava has made his own take on the underworld - darkly, but he had a great imagination whilst doing it. For example, the chopping of the roots is visually interesting. The production design of the film is very good, it trumps the story, which isn't great, as well as the humor, which unnecessarily gets in the way of the plot.

6-Headed Shark Attack (2018) (Fernsehfilm)

Englisch The American action genre film 6-Headed Shark Attack delivers what you expect from it. Simple entertainment, but with the actors trying to convince you that even for films like this they have to sacrifice something. By that I don't mean honor or anything like that, but rather the times when there are scenes that truly asked for a bit more from the actors. And within the limits of their capabilities, they demonstrated it. It’s unoriginal, but tolerable.

Die Zwangsjacke (1964)

Englisch The combination of William Castle, Robert Bloch and Joan Crawford worked great and I watched Strait-Jacket with the satisfaction of watching something that was good, that actually tried to keep the viewer at least a little tense. Indeed, it's clear that William Castle took a lot of inspiration from the imagery of Psycho - the comparison is also there thanks to Bloch - but still, Strait-Jacket works very well as a horror film.

Hunters (2016)

Englisch I was simply bored watching Hunters. I found it extremely draining, as if I was looking at the same thing in the next scene as I had looked at in the previous one. Only slightly different characters and slightly different violence. A lot of blood, a lot of dirt, a lot of nudity, an interesting idea here and there, not particularly great execution, and most of all a picture that obscures the fact that it's still mainly just amateur entertainment.

Naked Fear (2007)

Englisch The American film Naked Fear is an example that even with a low budget it is possible to make a film that is quite passable and makes you feel the way you should feel - the uncomfortable feeling of becoming a mouse being hunted by a cat. This is what the film manages to project, but it's a shame about the long introduction, which could have been incorporated as flashbacks to the young woman's escape. Or it also could have been left out entirely.

Der Teufel soll dich holen (2018)

Englisch The Indonesian film May the Devil Take You wants to be an atmospheric film on the one hand, and quite a brutal horror on the other. I think it's particularly good at the brutal aspects, where in some scenes, even if you close your eyes, you'll get a very uncomfortable feeling in your stomach simply from what you're actually hearing. It is good in this respect, but unfortunately not very revelatory in terms of plot.
