Drive (2011)

Englisch I don't know if it was my restless mood or just the movie being unnecessarily slow for me. Sometimes I even wondered if the picture was stuck. It has its charm and atmosphere though. It may be art in its own way, but it lacks excitement. Ryan Gosling has done better work, in my opinion. Of course, it's not his fault. Unfortunately, the script doesn't allow him to show his full glory. Unfortunately, I see it as just average... 3 stars.

Gaewa neukdaeeui sigan (2007) (Serie)

Englisch A perfect and sensual series that took my breath away with its story. I don't share the opinion that the first episodes were weaker. I fell in love with the first episode in Thailand. The action scenes were excellent and the romantic aspect was very, very strong. There's nothing like love in action. The soundtrack captures the atmosphere exactly. There are plenty of turning points that leave the viewer breathless, fantastic actors (including the child actors), and well-developed characters. I particularly liked Joon-gi Lee. The role suited him better than all the other movies and TV shows combined. But the biggest hero is still the villain Mao. I'm thrilled... 5 stars.

Geomsa peurinseseu (2010) (Serie)

Englisch I'm pleasantly surprised by the varied and totally unpredictable plot, which didn't bore me for a moment. This is not just a silly romance, but a well thought out story. The cases the prosecutors solve and the overall denouement make it perfectly varied. The love storyline is conceived in an interesting way and the main plot is not as simple as it might seem at first glance. At first Ma Hye-ri may be so naive it hurts, but she still won my sympathy in the first few episodes. The series is also blessed with a nice and catchy soundtrack. 4.5 stars.

Tajemství (2007) (Theateraufzeichnung)

Englisch A very nice and engaging story that is really elaborated in detail. The music is great, but that's what I'm used to with Landa. Except that I still can catch Lucie Vondráčková in it at the Kalich. And that's a pity, because with Kuklova it wasn't the real deal. Even so, a nice 4 stars.

Naesarang ssagaji (2003)

Englisch It is lacking any momentum, action, or anything interesting. It had a concept, but it certainly wasn't the best executed. I feel like I’ve been watching trailers that failed to grab me in any way. There is a bit of humor, but did I laugh more than twice? Moreover, some of the jokes are even cheesy and corny. I think the soundtrack is also pretty lame... we're really not used to that in Korean flicks. I really like Ji-won Ha though, and Jae-won Kim isn't bad either. Hence the 3 stars.

Boseuga dallajyeotteoyo (2011) (Serie)

Englisch I changed my mind about a hundred times while watching this. The only thing I'm sure of is that there’s something different about this dorama. Be it the attitude of the main character, the openness, or the handling of the relationships. I really enjoyed the first episodes. There weren't many weak moments, no one particularly got on my nerves. I usually don't like actress Kang-hee Choi much, but here she's really great as No Eun Seol and it's not hard to like her at all. Same with Cha Ji Heon and everyone else, actually. 4 stars.

I jookil nomeui sarang (2005) (Serie)

Englisch The first three episodes are below average and boring in my opinion. After all, no one enjoys long takes where the viewer has time to make and drink a cup of coffee. Let alone at the beginning, when you still have no connection to the series. It's a pity that the idea wasn't used more meaningfully in the first episodes. But from the fourth episode onwards it won me over and my rating increased rapidly. The disappointment in the form of "a year later" didn't come again until somewhere around episodes 11-12. It's cowardly to slip out at the best part like that and deprive the viewer of such powerful moments. Fortunately, the plot started moving in an interesting direction again. I ran out of words by the final episode... Both Rain and Min-ah Shin are among my top favorites and they didn't disappoint me here. Another plus is the beautiful, melodic music. I’m giving it 5 stars, although that's not fair at all and I should really be giving it 3 stars. It just took me by the heart, and in these cases I just can't help it.

Kkotminam ramyeongage (2011) (Serie)

Englisch Finally a proper kiss once again!!! :)) As much as I didn't like the main couple in the beginning, I fell in love with them later on. Cha Chi-soo annoyed me a bit at first, but by the end I couldn't get enough of him. Overall, the actors are very good and well cast. Even the more serious situations here are taken with a dose of hyperbole. Sometimes the hyperbole borders on parody, but I didn't mind that at all. The story is very nice and the situations are not repetitive. Plus the smell of ramen... ahhh. 4 stars.

Sajonara icuka (2010)

Englisch I had the privilege of experiencing the incredible power of love with this incredibly beautiful film. I didn't read the plot summary before watching it so I enjoyed every minute. Like most of us, I marvel at the visuals and admire the acting. But I am most impressed by the amazing camera and sound work. Some of the shots were breathtaking. This isn’t far from being perfect... 5 stars.

Midnight in Paris (2011)

Englisch Like all Woody Allen films, Midnight in Paris has its own unmistakable charm. I became convinced of this with the initial montage of shots of Paris. Owen Wilson, whom I didn't find too convincing at first, pleasantly surprised me. The interweaving of today with the 1920s is fantastic and I think both eras were captured perfectly. I feel like I've returned from a lovely walk through Paris, which I hadn't experienced in this light before. Nice, 4 stars.
