Biografie

He studied Architecture at the University of Montevideo until he discovered that animation film was his real vocation. He took part in C3M (Cinematheque of the Third World) where he made his debut film before its dissolution: En la selva hay mucho que hacer. Exiled in Peru in 1985 he made several shortfilms which started to define the clay animation tecnique which he would later use with a remarkable skill. Back to Uruguay, in 1986 he founded, together with Mario Jacob, the production company Imágenes. In 1994 he dissociated from the production company to found Tournier Animation. He has been awarded numerous prizes in Uruguay, but also in several festivals in Argentina, Brazil and Cuba. He is presently a lecturer in the Animation Faculty at ORT University in Uruguay.
