Ben Rivers

Ben Rivers (b. 1972, Somerset, UK) is a seminal experimental filmmaker whose movies are regularly presented in Karlovy Vary's Imagina section. In 2014 KVIFF organized a complete retrospective of his work, which showcased his original 16 mm short films (including The Coming Race, 2006; Phantoms of a Libertine, 2012) and features (Two Years at Sea, 2011; A Spell to Ward Off the Darkness, 2013, co-dir. Ben Russell). Last year the festival screened Things, and this year, in addition to the feature The Sky Trembles and the Earth Is Afraid and the Two Eyes Are Not Brothers (2015), the short There Is a Happy Land Further Awaay (2015) is part of the program.
