Biografie
Casey Affleck directed, in 2010, his first feature film, I’m Still Here, starring Joaquin Phoenix, which landed the Biografilm Award at the Venice Festival. With the second, Light of My Life, in which he also starred, he participated in the Panorama section of the Berlin Festival. Outstanding in his career as an actor are Gerry (2002), which he co-wrote with Gus Van Sant and Matt Damon, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (2007), for which he received an Academy Award for Best Actor nomination, Gone Baby Gone (2007), directed by his brother Ben, and Manchester by the Sea (2016), for which he earned the Academy Award for Best Actor.
