Biografie

The French actress, photographer and director Lola Doillon comes from a filmmaking family and first appeared on screen as a child in The Crying Woman, directed by her father, Jacques Doillon. In later years she worked with him as assistant director.

She herself got off to an impressive start as a director, with her first film Just About Love? being shown at Cannes in the Un certain regard section and receiving a César nomination for best debut. The subject of childhood and adolescence also appears in her third feature, Fanny's Journey, which tells the story of a courageous Jewish girl in WWII and was inspired by real events.
