Biografie

Jaione Camborda is a filmmaker, who has lived and worked in Galicia for some years. Trained at the Prague Film School (FAMU) and the Munich Film School (HFF), her career has been linked to Novo Cinema Galego, working as an art director or producer, among others, in O ouro do tempo, premiered in Karlovy Vary, Verengo (premiere at Bafici) and Las Altas Presiones. In 2015 she won an award at the Seville Film Festival. In 2019 she made her first feature film, Arima, presented at the Seville Film Festival, receiving the Best director award. She was also awarded at the Gijón International Film Festival. In September 2023, her film O Corno (The Rye Horn) made her the first female Spanish director to win the Golden Shell at the the San Sebastian International Film Festival.
