Elvira Notari

One of the earliest and most prolific Italian filmmakers, screenwriters, actors and film producers of her time. Her films, more than seventy feature films and a hundred documentaries, are based on forms of Neapolitan drama, such as the sceneggiata, which she shot in the streets of Naples with non-professional actors, giving her work a touch of realism.
