Biografie

Céline Sciamma (1980, Pontoise, France) studied French literature at University Nanterre in Paris and simultaneously film at La Fémis (2001 – 2005), majoring in scriptwriting. She wrote screenplays to several fi lms before she attracted attention at the Cannes film festival in 2007 with her debut feature film, Water Lilies (Naissance des pieuvres). Three years later she directed Pauline, a short that was soon followed by her second feature, Tomboy, which won Teddy Award at Berlinale 2011. Her latest feature, Girlhood (Bande des fi lles), was premiered this year in Cannes.
