Biografie

Daniel Eduvijes Carrera was raised in southern California, where his interest in bringing the Mexican-American experience to the big screen first began. He double majored in Film Studies and English at UC Berkeley, where his thesis won the Eisner Prize. After graduation, he formed part of the Film Department at Columbia University School of the Arts. His films have screened at various festivals, including the Los Angeles Film Festival, the Festival Internacional de Cine in Guadalajara, and the Festival de Cine de Huesca, amongst others. Daniel holds a scholarship from the National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts in Washington D.C., and is nominated for the Rockefeller scholarship. He currently works at Film Independent in L.A on ‘Project: Involve’. Daniel’s MA thesis in film direction and screenwriting, Primera comunión, has won various prizes, including the Jury Prize for Best Narrative Short Film in the Festival Internacional Cine de las Américas.
