Ena Sendijarević

Biografie

Amsterdam-based writer and filmmaker. She studied Film Theory at the University of Amsterdam and the Freie Universität Berlin before graduating as a writer/director from the Dutch national Film Academy in 2014. She wrote and directed several awarded short films, including Travelers in the Night (2013) and Fernweh (2014). Her short Import (2016) was premiered at the Quinzaine des Cinéastes in Cannes. Ena’s debut feature film, Take Me Somewhere Nice (2019), was selected for the Acid competition at the Cannes Film Festival and won the Special Jury Award in Rotterdam’s IFFR. Sweet Dreams (2023) is the sophomore feature from the director, premiered at the Locarno FF and won the Best Performance award for Renée Soutendijk. The film will represented The Netherlands in the race for the Oscar for Best International Feature Film.
