Martínez has worked extensively with Nicolás López. They start creating short films as a hobby. Martínez began his acting career starring in the short films Pajero (1999) and Superheroes (1999), both directed by López. Martínez studied publicity first and eventually found his way to acting. Promedio Rojo (2004) was a huge success. Martínez played Condoro, and his character is still remembered by many people. In 2006, Martínez started in Santos. In 2009, he played Javier in Retorno, his first drama character. The same year, he got a lead role in the rom-com Que Pena Tu Vida, directed by López. Martínez also starred in the subsequent sequels. In 2011 he participated in the web-series and TV movie El Crack, directed by Lopez and Guillermo Amoedo.
