For almost a century and a half, the musical heirlooms of Hendrik Andriessen and the artistic zest of the Andriessen family have had their own place in Dutch culture. The family-tree includes many famous names. Like Mari, Hendrik's brother, a sculpturer who is well-known as the maker of the resistance monument 'De Dokwerker'. Hendrik's children Jurriaan en Louis are major contemporary composers. The mixture of music-recordings, archive footage, and interviews in this film produces an attractive image of 'one century of Andriessen'. Wij, Andriessen is more than an exceptional family history.
