Waste Mandala

Waste Mandala is a documentary project about garbage that becomes a symbol of change. It is a journey from the highest mountain peaks of Nepal to our inner depths, to leave a sign on Earth's skin. The documentary tells the story of the action of the Green Soldier community, an increasing group of tourists and volunteers that started to collect the garbage left behind by the mass tourism. The community are going to bring all the garbage collected from one of the highest pick of Nepal to the Swayambhunath Monastery, where, together with the Buddhist monks, a large and colourful waste mandala will be created, so big that it could be seen from high above.
