Kris lives with her partly disabled uncle and together they run a derelict farm. In their quirky yet loving relationship, build upon daily routines, words aren't necessary. Kris is the dominant workhorse and she has taken on a motherly and overprotecting role towards her uncle. During a complicated birth, Kris saves a calf and her interest for the veterinary field is reawakened. She develops a friendship with the chatty veterinarian Johannes and slowly experiences a life outside the farm. As love crosses her path, a possible life changing question emerges. (Cinemax)

A rather strange film from the Danish countryside that probably won't suit everyone, but I quite liked it. The calm narrative style is accompanied by equally effective landscape shots focusing on the sky, which somehow soothingly leads you to the end of the story. It's just a pity that Kris's thought processes aren't very discernible. Sometimes I didn't understand her behavior at all. (65%)
