Nekul is a young Mapuche who lives in the mountain tops of the Andes. His mother is ill and each day her health diminishes. Nekul and his brothers and sisters live by the ancestral traditions of their town. Their father requires that they respect their culture above all else. In addition, he requires that Nekul work far from home to bring money back for the family. The road back home is full of doubts, fear and questions. His mother’s illness, paradoxically, presents new opportunities for Nekul; a trip, a journey to find himself and his own place in this world. (Guadalajara International Film Festival)
