Málnásy Gábor is preparing for his engagement party with Szánthódy Éva, the daughter of his neighbour, a landowner. Enter Emmi, making a mess of both the manor house and its inhabitants. She does this out of jealousy and love. She has lots of ideas and methods to annoy and torture Gábor. Strangely enough, the man does nothing to prevent her from doing whatever she has up her sleeve. What's more, he apparently becomes more of a shy person, once a man of push and go, a former member of parliament. On top of that, Emmi lies that she is the butler's daughter, but even so, Gábor seems willing to marry her. Emmi escapes in a stolen car. Eventually, Gábor finds her in the manor-house. Emmi turns out to be the daughter of the butler's former master. They get married on the spot. (Verleiher-Text)
