In einer alternativen Realität, in der maskierte Vigilanten wie Verbrecher behandelt werden, erhält die Serie von Executive Producer Damon Lindelof (Lost, The Leftovers) die Nostalgie des gleichnamigen, bahnbrechenden Comics und geht dabei eigene Wege. Lindelof und Regina King (The Leftovers) arbeiten für die Serie erneut zusammen. King führt den Cast als Angela Abar an, die zwei Masken trägt; die des Lead Detective der Tulsa Police Force sowie die einer Ehefrau und dreifachen Mutter. I’m bothered by the stylization and the costumes. The principle of the weapon holders should be explained and several other things also seem fairly illogical even in the parallel reality. Thematically, it looks interesting, with the racial problems at level 2.0. It just lacks a fundamental link to the history of the Watchmen; it's simply not enough to just mention a trans-dimensional monster a couple of times and give a fleeting glimpse of Manhattan. I’m curious to see how it develops.

Little Fear of Lightning (2019) (E05)
A lot of the wheels have now definitely fallen into place. The flashback to 1985 sets the pace and doesn't falter. The Mirror steals the whole episode, and the scenes with Adrian finally get a payoff that was worth the wait.

The chat with God in the bar explains a lot. The coherent and self-fulfilling future may seem rather cheap, but it makes sense if you give it some thought. Irons is awesome in this episode. It’s Veidt’s move. Wait for the post-credits scene.
