In a Berlin where everyone speaks English, Charlotte is an American poet who smokes a lot, drinks a lot and rolls her eyes a lot. Charmingly abrasive and committed to her rivalry with fellow poet Sylvie, Charlotte is up to win a prestigious grant - if only she can keep a handle on her affair with one ex and the sudden return of another.
