A middle-aged couple Misha, a professor and Tamara, a psychologist, are going through a mid-life crisis. Misha is dating a bright and flirtatious young woman, Sveta, and Tamara is in love with young Max, who washes cars and participates in history role-play games... Secretly both Misha and Tamara would like to divorce, but their circumstances make it impossible to confess their mutual desires. Seconds before they are about to tell each other the truth they are involved in a car accident, and they end up in hospital with severe injuries. For the rehabilitation period, Tamara decides they should stay in a big country mansion that she has inherited from a relative.
