Between past and future, this film presents a biography of Jean Cocteau and those who were his friends: Proust, Stravinsky, Chanel, Picasso .... but particularly highlights the pathway of his artistic legacy and the vast influence he left on the artistic creations of our contemporaries. Fifty years after his death, we decipher this extraordinary character, in turn, poet, playwright, sculptor, filmmaker, an artist who undid trends by creating a timeless universe, a world of universal legends that are now part of the collective unconscious. The interview sets are all in reference with Cocteau's world. They lead the viewer into a formal game of emotions and impressions: Chinese shadows, projections of photos and film clips, contrast lighting, mirrors, a door opening as if by magic onto the outside world. Behind the mirror, we find Cocteau's myths: Orpheus, the Angel Heurtebise, Beauty and the Beast ... If this documentary is a biography, its purpose is clear: to reclaim Cocteau, one of the most significant artists of the 20th century through the profusion of his work, by the diversity of his creative forms to serve a single art: poetry.
