Britain's Billionaire Immigrants

This obs-doc follows some of Chinas super-rich elite who have either made their home in Britain or spend a lot of time there. Enthusiastic Anglophiles, many are now looking to put down roots and are spending huge sums of money buying into British high society, investing in established traditions and adopting the latest fashions. Over the course of the hour, we meet Wendy Yu, the daughter of a door manufacturing billionaire who is desperate to become a debutante,as well as Leon Zhang and Edison Ngu, two leading lights of the China Supercar Club of the UK. They own vehicles including Bugattis and Paganis and cameras follow them to racing events across the UK and as they tear it up on a London nightride. Property is big business for the Chinese super-rich and some upmarket estate agents now employ Mandarin speakers. We meet one couple hunting for a traditional English manor house to gut and redecorate in Chinese style. Out in the country, we also join a billionaire shopping for a multi-million-pound horse and head to Selby Abbey in Yorkshire, which has become a Chinese tourist destination and sought-after wedding venue after hosting the nuptials of Asian pop heartthrob Jay Chou.
