Heavy metal music (aka, “metal”) has faced constant variations in the 30 plus years that have passed since Sepultura was formed. The band knows this better than anyone, precisely because it led many of those changes, integrating in each one of their metamorphoses elements that were not in line with the orthodoxy of the genre or their previous work, and taking metal to new horizons that many subsequent artists helped develop. Sepultura Endurance traces that continuous evolution, the changes in style and lineup the band went through and the relationship of their current members with that history. The testimonies explore different aspects of the phenomenon (including important guests appearance by figures like Lars Ulrich, Scott Ian and Corey Taylor), the archive footage is remarkable and the band’s sound never disappoints, but above all, the documentary leans out with no restrictions to observe the chemistry that still holds together the great cry of thrash metal.
