Who Is America?

A brutal satire that suffers slightly from being too long. Cohen thought up several fictional characters for the individual problems that he wanted to focus on and the more successful ones logically appear more than once, which is a bit of a shame. Of course, some scenes are absolute genius (the mosque!). My girlfriend kept asking me incredulously if it wasn’t all staged, if these people are really such idiots. I think it was Dick Cheney signing his autograph on the waterboarding kit that finally convinced her. (02.11.2020)
