Vientos del Sur

In Peruvian culture, the “tapados” are treasures that were buried during colonial times to protect them from the Spanish conquistadors; a light or flame emerges from the ground to indicate their location. Nina’s grandfather, Fausto, believes that one or more of these “tapados” are buried in his property and engages her to help him locate these treasures. This search will lead both estranged relatives to reevaluate their lives and come to terms with their own isolation. (Chicago Latino Film Festival)
