Die jungen Touristen Sarah, Rachel und Kevin wollen in Jerusalem die Nächte durchtanzen und ihr Leben genießen. Während die pulsierende Metropole sie anfangs willkommen heißt, schlägt die Stimmung schnell um: Unheilvolle und unerklärliche Dinge geschehen, bis eines Nachts im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes die Hölle losbricht. Die Apokalypse bahnt sich unaufhaltsam ihren Weg durch die Heilige Stadt, die vom Militär hermetisch abgeriegelt wird. Was it really such an insurmountable problem for the creators to write at least one (!) of the main characters that was a little (!) likeable and not a idiot? Because these dull morons were truly unbearable, especially since the proper horror action doesn’t get going until the fiftieth minute. Until then it’s suffering, which unnecessarily hurts the film, because the setting is great, the POV through the glasses works fine and the demonic mayhem in the last third is quite decent. But the idiotic and annoying main characters overwhelm everything else.

When it comes to the characters, you'll feel like you're watching the same group for the hundredth time. In found footage horrors, the characters are simply disregarded, and the creators just want to have horny and subsequently screaming idiots in it. This is something you just don't want to watch that often. But maybe one day somebody will try to make a found footage film a full-fledged film and not just a frantic chase without any real effort to make a truly complex film.
