Iona und ihre Mutter Lyn waren beide immer Außenseiterinnen und deshalb die besten Freundinnen. Nach einem Umzug in eine andere Stadt, ändert sich jedoch alles. Teenager Iona findet einen Freund und eine Mädels-Clique. Ihre Freundinnen meinen es jedoch alles andere als gut mit ihr und auch Mutter Lyn hat Probleme mit den Nachbarn. The main young girl character is, let’s say, pretty weird and extremely quiet. Nevertheless, she is trying to get into a group of classically rough teenagers who don’t go too far for personal insults. She tries with all her might but most of the time she only embarrasses herself and that’s what the movie is about. It’s a British small-scale movie that proves that young people don’t necessarily have to do military service for them to turn their lives into a nuthouse.
