Peter in Radioland

While the rest of the world has gradually gone digital, 63-year-old Peter still clings to the good, old-fashioned analogue signal. After a long life in the service of radio, he is not very impressed by the development, and he merely utters a sigh of defeat when the Skype connection to his children abroad gets cut off again - and again. Even if many of the machines that occupy his shelves have sent their last message ages ago, he still sticks by his analogue view of the world and is fighting against the kind of change that is threatening to make his life's efforts superfluous. Johanna Wagners has won numerous awards for her sensitive and caring portrait of her radio-loving cousin, complete with analogue stop motion animations and nostalgically crackling tape noise.
