Juan de Dios, a law student, is the son of Eloísa, a single mother who works hard as a seamstress to support her son. Through a classmate, Juan de Dios learns that he is the bastard son of Cecilio, a village cacique. He decides to go meet him, passing himself off as a bachelor and going to work at his father’s house, where he endures humiliation. Little by little, the affection between him and his cousin Lucía grows stronger. (Morelia International Film Festival)
