Las llaves de la memoria

Does Andalusia know its own history? Is there a relationship between identity and knowledge of the past? With these and other questions thrown out at her pupils by an anthropology teacher, Las llaves de la memoria weaves its plot of crossed keys into what is almost a detective-like investigation guided by the actress Mar Ejada. That narrative choice of the character and the auteurist trace in each framing, in each cut, in each focal point, tense the frames with a certain poetic impulse already recognizable in Armesto's previous work, bringing it closer to creation documentary or even to certain fiction twinned, for example with the latest films by José Luis Guerín.
