Nach einem lukrativen Kokaindeal wollen die beiden Motorrad-Hippies Wyatt und Billy zum Mardi Gras nach New Orleans. Sie suchen Freiheit, doch überall stoßen sie auf Vorurteile und Aggressionen. Eines Tages schließt sich ihnen der versoffene Anwalt George an. Die Gewalt gegen die gesellschaftlichen Außenseiter eskaliert.
