Nelly is going to be married to the rich textile dealer, but she loves the bar pianist and wants to escape with him. She steals the savings of her mother, but Eszter, the adopted daughter of Mrs. Berend catches her. Seemingly it was Eszter who stole, therefore she is obliged to leave the house. She is thinking of committing suicide as the famous writer, Kazár György helps her to get a job in a hotel. Gossip leaks after her and when a ring vanishes, she is thrown out. She is found half frozen. Nelly is full of self reproach and she confesses everything. It is again Kazár to help Eszter out and now he doesn't let her go anymore. (Verleiher-Text)
