My Big Fat Wedding follows The Big Day, a plus size bridal boutique in Castleford, West Yorkshire. Brides-to-be come in all shapes and sizes, and nobody understands that better than Lucy and Paula, lifelong friends and owners of the specialist store. For some fuller-figured women, finding and wearing a dress can be tough after a lifetime of covering up; it's all eyes on them at the altar. Stocking gowns up to a size 32, and with bespoke options going bigger, The Big Day aims to give every bride the "Cinderella experience" that she deserves. In the programme, we jet off to Vegas as Sam, who never expected to find a dress that she wanted to show off, ties the knot with Mark. We also meet Gemma, whose body hang-ups and fear of dress shopping originally made her call off her nuptials to partner Kevin. Also proving that every bride can feel like a princess on her wedding day are Laura, who's chosen to be happy after years of dieting and hiding underneath baggy clothes, and Lauren, who only started to feel comfortable in her own skin when she met fiancée Dan.
