The Moon is a space object which has fascinated humankind since the dawn of history. It appears in myths and legends of all cultures on the planet. It has also become part of the international political rivalry of the 20th century and has forever changed the perspective with which we look at the Earth. Despite abundant research, it still has something to offer and questions about its existence still employ both scientists and humanity itself. The French documentary Moon by François de Riberolles presents a mosaic of connections between both the Moon and humankind and the Moon and the Earth. The author approaches the topic quite unusually by combining scientific facts with an almost melancholic form of narration. He presents episodes to the viewer from "life" on the Moon since its creation up until Earth's present-day natural satellite. He perceives the Moon through the lens of human history and does not overlook its importance throughout the years up to the present. (Academia Film Olomouc)
