Sure, there's a bit of racial issues peeking through in the film, but it's still an action-oriented movie, almost of a thriller nature with sci-fi elements, about a boy who takes magic a bit further than others. The film gradually builds up to what must eventually come. Basically, it’s a darker Kick-Ass from the ghetto.

Surprisingly, I enjoyed it more than I expected. A pretty gritty and realistic look at a young drug dealer who gets into trouble, which is always a risk in this line of work. On the plus side, he's a street magician, so we get some interesting tricks, the chemistry with his beautiful girlfriend works, and the finale builds up nicely, and there's some violence, for which I'm willing to add to the rating. A good little film. 75%.
