What is the present state of neurobiological research concerning the brain – the most complex part of the human body? Rob van Hattum, research journalist and director, asks this question at the beginning of his investigation, and during the film he undergoes several experiments concerning the brain's function. As the film progresses, he asks neuroscientists particular questions, for example, whether it is currently possible to connect the brains of several individuals into one network or whether the brain may one day overcome its bodily limitations. Another area of development focuses on improving the ability to decode a person's brain activity while they experience different kinds of inputs which in the future might allow the brain to be "read". The documentary not only reveals actual findings of neuroscientists, but also details their practical use in the construction of robotic limbs or the treatment of phobias. (Academia Film Olomouc)
