To some residents of Prijedor, 20 years is too soon for a reckoning with the past. Others feel that the slaughter of Bosniaks and Croats should not be commemorated at all because it only serves to further complicate multi-ethnic coexistence in the city. Over the course of a few weeks in 1992, more than 5,000 residents of Prijedor were murdered and hundreds of others tortured and humiliated in concentration camps around the city. The film combines archival footage with the accounts of witnesses, activists, former soldiers and young people to show how the scars of war remain unhealed. (One World)
