Nadja Melander, star correspondent on a national newspaper, refuses an assignment in Japan. To the astonishment of her colleagues she prefers to remain in Stockholm, to write a series of articles about a maternity hospital. There are some who believe she is on the verge of a sensational genetic discovery, but this is hardly the case. Regardless of her dislike of everything pertaining to pregnancy and babies, she has chosen this place to be near the man she has loved for fifteen years, Doctor Stefan Hjelm, who is married. The film is not a story of the eternal triangle, Stefan loves his wife, is very absorbed in his work and has little time for Nadja. Her report is an unhoped-for opportunity to be close to him and have time together. (Verleiher-Text)
