Eighteen-year-old Britt tires of her rather dull home-life and her tedious job in Malmö, a city in southern Sweden. She takes up with a rock-and-roll singer, becomes pregnant, and moves into his apartment with him. There she discovers he is too immature to face the responsibilities of breadwinner and father. She meets a young intellectual, Björn. At first they get along well. But he is too tied to his mother's apron-strings, and the two young people realise they have no future together. Britt has no one to turn to. She has matured during her pregnancy, and she chooses to remain alone. (Verleiher-Text)
