The Rwenzori Mountains are one of the few places on Earth where one can see equatorial glaciers. However, due to global warming they are rapidly melting. The people of the Bakonjo tribe, living at the foot of the mountains of Uganda, helped biologists Nate Dappen and Neil Losin to undertake an arduous journey to the peaks. The aim of the expedition was to take pictures of the tops, compare the shots with images that were more than a hundred years old, and thus provide evidence of irrecoverable losses. The glaciers, which form part of the Nile’s water supply, are expected to disappear completely within twenty years. (Academia Film Olomouc)
