Gom o Gour

Searching for the victims of the massacre on Tehran’s Jaleh Square on Friday, 8 September 1978. Archival footage and photographs form the foundation for the real and imaginary search for the identity of the anonymous participants in a demonstration that was broken up by the army and that has become a symbol for the victims of the Iranian revolution.
Three soldiers refused to shoot at their fellow citizens and chose to desert. Perhaps they had heard the chants of the veiled women whom they could not look in the eye: “Brother soldiers, why do you murder your brothers?” (Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival)
