Abyssus Abyssum Invocat

The macabre world of Abyssus Abyssum Invocat invokes the works of stop-motion animation masters Jan Švankmajer and the Brothers Quay. The film’s title translates as “hell invokes hell,” more commonly known as “one misdeed precedes another” or still more colloquially as “two wrongs do not make a right.” The film carries us through a trial in which the future (or the lack thereof) of a prisoner on death row hangs in the balance.
