While the young scientist, Julius, steadfastly researches the asexual reproduction of worms, his natural curiosity leads him to discover some inconvenient truths about those around him. He witnesses his mother's infidelity and suspects his grandfather for the same, all the while he believes he is losing his best friend Shiley to a rival named Chase. These disappointments are at the forefront while he also wrestles with his father's mysterious departure years ago. Though Julius keeps a watchful eye, all his acute observations seem to prove is that no solution will restore the people he cares about to their appropriate roles. How can Julius hold together a family that seems as though none of its parts can stay intact? I’ve been finding out that independent American movies are becoming increasingly more fun for me. Because I’ve recently realized that the world isn’t rational – quite the opposite. That’s why I’m beginning to understand all of these independent ideas by directors who give it their all. Five Time Champion is a nice movie. It’s about a boy who’s coming to age and he doesn’t understand a lot of things about life. And I wouldn’t hold it against him – I’m older than him and I still don’t understand a lot of things about my own life.
