The documentary Your Hairness tries to convince us that our locks, as the most visible representatives of hair on our body, deserve the privilege of being on top of our heads. But it is not only this kind of hair that is worthy of our attention. The film does not forget other kinds of common, dark of fair hair. We have to admit it is a diverse company; whiskers, lashes, eyebrow hair, body hair, fur, even the little hairs shorter than one millimetre that enable us to hear. Even though we often do not pay them any attention, our lives and the lives of many other organisms depend on them. The documentary introduces us to hair (and it's derivations) carrying out its various roles; we will see it as a protector ensuring a disguise, as a witness giving evidence against its former "owner", and as a navigator warning against obstacles. Scientists from many branches will present information about the development, role, mythology and new discoveries related to hair. They will also show some of the mysteries of hair and its relatives via film shots of the world as seen by the naked eye or through the microscope, via documentary and animation, and via shots of mammals, insects and plants. At the hub of all these images is Your Hairness, one of the most wonderful products of evolution. (Academia Film Olomouc)
