With a couple’s emotional crisis as the dramatic plot, the film perceives the changes that have taken place in the Cuban family as a result of social transformations within the country. Together with the increasing participation of women in the social life, the film shows the attitudes and emotional reactions imposed by tradition standing in the way of the lovers’ full sentimental realization and a more authentic individual fulfillment.
