The film isn't perfectly polished and it shows that it's more of a television piece, but both renowned creators attempted to pack something interesting and sufficiently horrific into just an hour. And they succeeded, utilizing Poe's dark poetry that extends into the supernatural, yet still gives you the feeling that it is quite realistic. That makes it all the more frightening.
