Der traditionelle Lynch'sche Ansatz, das Unverständliche unverständlich zu machen. Ein großes Plus, aber auch ein Minus, war die Kamera - im ersten Fall die Aufnahmen aus dem Hotel, im zweiten Fall das seltsam zerschnittene und unscharfe Bild. Marion Cotillard war großartig in der Rolle, ebenso wie die Wahl der historischen Musik, aber das alles übertrumpft das Fehlen einer tieferen Bedeutung, die ich (vielleicht zu meinem Leidwesen) hier nicht gefunden habe.

For once again, we have a short Lynch-like film, which, if nothing else, has at least a bit of a plot. Marion Cotillard returns to a hotel room, where a handbag appears. It's actually a big advertisement for the Dior brand. Where did that handbag come from? What does it mean? Well, don't expect a clear answer. This is just Lynch, who is playing around so much that he actually forgot that there are others who want to see something. Well, I wonder if we will ever get something that is somewhat watchable without the need for LSD.
